My Lord, The Time Has Come

Introduction

It is far from typical for me to try poetry, but here goes.

This was done to the rhythm of Battle of Evermore - Led Zeppelin

Poem

The sound of a horse coming to a halt, ka-lump, ka-lump, ka-lump. The rider speaks the title of the poem.

My Lord, The Time Has Come

The White Horse huffs, the time has come, He wears a crown of gold
In clothes of white, with bow in hand, He mounts his fiery steed
Gave victory, would conquer then, for now the dust kicks up
The bowmen hear, make feathered shafts, they're for the hearts of men
Chorus
(ding-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding) Last chance! To harvest for the Lord
The crop stands tall, the heads are white, the reapers are too few
(ding-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding) Last chance! Before the Spirit goes
Be diligent, work for the prize, 'til all will hear the news
The Red Horse stomps, the battle sags, the reinforcements come
They have no peace, they miss the mark, they fight among themselves
On seeing this, some soldiers fail, and some do turn away
They use the sword, to kill their own, not on the enemy
The Black Horse runs, a balance scale, to see how things have gone
There's little wheat, the barley scarce, it isn't looking good
Too little wine, too little oil, to even try to weigh
The troops are weak, and some asleep, how can the church survive
Death rides along, Sheol comes too, the Green Things Horse goes on
Some spiritual, some physical, the bodies are on the ground
The Word kills some, starvation strikes, and persecution too
The animals, eat up the sprouts, the young are hurt the most

No chorus after last verse.
